    5TX does not charge

My 5TX had stopped charging. On one charger, the red led blinks, on another the green led blinks, but the unit does not charge at all.
Please instruct how to send it for repair (and battery change).
I use the unit on a daily basis and miss that great audio it produces.

    Thanks

As mentioned in another thread the problem is your adapter. Cheap adapter are badly regulated and produce a higher output voltage when the load is low. For example, when the battery is fully charged the amp will not draw current from the adapter. Then a badly regulated adapter increases its output voltage. The maximal voltage the 5TX's charger chip (LTC4088) can accept is 6V. As for the USB specification the voltage must be between 4.5V and 5.5V. So when your adapter goes over 6V it is actually out of USB specification. My recommendation is to use a bigger wall adapter as they are better regulated than very small adapters.

Changing the charger chip will cost $15. A new battery from Maxell will be $15. Shipping back is $10. I sent you a separate email...

    Thanks Robert.
Usually I use my Samsung or Lg phone adapters (wall adapters).
I will observe that in the future.
